In this peer review we were asked to focus on the global edits only. This was very hard for me because in the past I have focused on the local edits. I found myself wandering back to the local edits throughout the paper. It was frustrating at times because I was unable to focus on the bigger picture. After I read through each essay once, I went back through and read each again after I gained knowledge of what they were on. It was easier for me to pick up on the global edits after reading through the essay a few times. The two people I peer reviewed for did a very good job throughout their essays, so it was also hard to pick up on these edits. I believe that the more practice I do with these, I will get stronger and stronger at these edits. Also, it was hard for me to pick up the first time because I have trouble with writing, so I need to take my time to gain a solid understanding on what the writer’s opinion and purpose was for the essay. This needed to be done so I did not put my opinion into the writing. Overall this was hard for me, but I will am able to make the differences between the different type of edits.
