I did not know that a metaphor designer was a job. This is very interesting and made me think of many other things like this that could be jobs that I never realized. I think this is interesting because it brings up so many things that you never think about because the mind is usually set in its way to see one side of things. After reading what this job does it shows that this opens your horizons and allows you to be able to see things in many different ways. I now wonder what other people are thinking because metaphors can have tons of meaning, but it depends how your brain works and processes it. This was very intriguing to me.
I never thought about metaphors not being able to be reversed. This is very interesting to me. I was reading a few of the metaphors given in the text earlier and it is true. The reverse of metaphors does not work. This makes me wonder what other things about a metaphor that I have never realized before. Metaphors were never explained to me in this way. I only have worked with metaphors in English class during high school. I did not realize how many metaphors are used every single day and now I will be more careful to listen for them.
Great. I thought the same thing when I first read this essay. I had no idea one could make a living off of generating metaphors all day! How cool!
